Description: This is a virtual instrument that is used to teach beam bending moment and twist mechanics at taught masters level at DCU. The virtual instrument corresponds to a laboratory used in a module entitled complex structre analysis. This instrument teaches the concepts of pure bending and the shear centre of a beam which the students calcuate during the laboratory. Load and twist deflection curves are generated and use to determine the relationships between torque, moment of inertia, shear modulus, torsion constant and rate of changeof angle of twist. If you do not have LabView ver8 installed on your computer you will need the LabView Run Time Engine in the same folder as this executable to run it. The run time file can be downloaded from the repository also. It is called LVRunTimeEng.exe . You will need to run this first, before using the Virtual Instrument, to install the Run TIme Engine.
